IT BEGINS

This’ll be my fifth year holding a party, and the rules have changed year to year…I think this time around though, we’re keeping it simple (because we generally manage to get plastered either way): no rules throughout the competition proper; rules come into effect during voting. Everyone “sponsors” a country (first come first serve at the door, flags attached to pens, some buddying up allowed), and the more points that country gets the more you drink. This has worked pretty well in the past! (The strategy comes in with prediction: if you’re not planning on drinking too much and you sponsor a surprise top-10 entry…whoops. Meanwhile, I picked Norway last year hoping for a nice mid-table buzz and came out of it much more sober than expected…)
